AYALA WESTGROVE HEIGHTS NATIVE TREE AND WILDLIFE HAVEN

The Ayala Westgrove Heights Native Tree and Wildlife Haven, by the Ayala Westgrove Heights Homeowners Association, is a community-initiated ecosystem restoration. By 2022, they have been able to plant 5000 native trees with very high survival rates. Many of these are published in two volumes of A Guide to Westgrove’s Native Trees. The Environment Committee of Westgrove focused on native trees holding on to the principle that not all trees are equal when it comes to restoration and that they need not only be beautiful but also serve as host for native pollinators, habitat for wildlife, regenerate the soil with its leaf fall and sequester carbon, hold water and clean air.
