Through the partnership between Yayasan PETRONAS and the Global Environment Centre,
the Yayasan PETRONAS Tree Planting Programme in support of PETRONAS Walk4Trees
Challenge was able to plant 62 species of trees (including mangrove, dipterocarp species,
among others) in 14 sites located in Permanent Reserved Forest and sites with protection
status across 11 states in Malaysia, resulting in 57,551 trees planted on 77.35 hectares of land
as of 31 May 2022. It directly supports the Greening Malaysia Programme – Our Tree, Our Life
through the 100 Million Tree Planting Campaign.
